How to Find Your Perfect Tennis Bracelet Size

A tennis bracelet should sit lightly on the wrist, secure enough to stay put and loose enough to move with you. This guide covers how to measure your wrist, how much room to add, and how to choose a fit that suits the way you wear jewellery.

Every Carat Heritage tennis bracelet is made with IGI-certified lab-grown diamonds and set by master jewellers, in the length that suits your wrist.

    Why fit matters

The most flattering tennis bracelet drapes gently across the wrist and follows its shape. It moves a little when you do, but it doesn’t slide down the hand or spin around.

If it’s too snug, it can feel restrictive by the end of the day. If it’s too loose, it can catch on knitwear and sleeves, and the clasp and settings take more strain over the years. A well-judged length looks effortless and is kinder to the bracelet itself.

    How to measure your wrist

You’ll need a soft measuring tape, or a strip of paper or a length of string and a ruler. Measure in centimetres for the most accurate result.

Wrap the tape, paper or string once around your wrist, just below the wrist bone, where the bracelet will sit.
Hold it close to the skin, snug but not pressing in.
If you’re using paper or string, mark the point where the ends meet, then lay it flat and measure against the ruler.

A few millimetres can change how a bracelet feels, so measure twice. It also helps to measure the wrist you’ll wear it on, since many people find one is slightly larger than the other.

    Add a little room

Your wrist measurement is the starting point. Add a small allowance so the bracelet can rest comfortably rather than hug the wrist.

Close fit: add about 1.5cm. A neat, secure feel with very little movement.
Classic fit: add about 2cm. Comfortable for everyday wear, and our most popular choice. (verify before publishing)
Relaxed fit: add 2.5cm or more. A softer, more fluid drape.

For example, a 16cm wrist with the classic allowance gives a bracelet of about 18cm.

Choose the fit that feels like you

Beyond the numbers, think about how you like to wear your jewellery. Some prefer a bracelet that stays close and secure, others like it to fall with a little ease.

The design plays a part too. A fine line of smaller stones sits differently from a bracelet with larger diamonds, even at the same length. If you plan to stack it with bangles, watches or other bracelets, a slightly looser fit lets each piece move naturally alongside the others.

If you’d like to try different lengths on your own wrist, we’d be glad to help. Visit us at our Centrepoint showroom, or arrange a virtual consultation if that’s easier.
