Lab grown diamonds have the same thermal and electrical conductivity as mined diamonds. So, they will pass a diamond tester exam.

Each Carat Heritage product comes with an authenticity card. For diamonds over 1 carat, an IGI cert is included with the product. An IGI (International Gemological Institute) certification is a professional grading report issued for diamonds, lab-grown diamonds, and gemstones. It provides detailed information about the diamond’s characteristics, including its 4 Cs:
• Cut
• Clarity
• Color
• Carat weight
The report also includes information like fluorescence, polish, symmetry, and proportions. IGI is one of the most trusted and widely recognized gemological institutes globally, making its certification highly valued, especially for lab-grown diamonds. It ensures transparency and helps buyers feel confident in their purchase.

- Avoid Harsh Chemicals – Keep your jewelry away from household cleaners, perfumes, and lotions, as these substances can dull the diamond’s sparkle and damage the metal setting.
- Remove Before Activities – Take off your jewelry before exercising, swimming, or doing household chores to prevent accidental damage, scratches, or loss.
- Store Properly – Keep diamond jewelry in a soft pouch or a lined jewelry box to prevent it from scratching against other pieces.
- Regular Cleaning – Soak your jewelry in warm water with a few drops of mild dish soap for about 15 to 20 minutes. Use a soft toothbrush to gently clean around the diamond and setting, then rinse with clean water and pat dry with a lint-free cloth.
- Minimize Direct Contact – Try to handle diamond jewelry by its edges rather than touching the stone directly, as oils from your fingers can reduce its brilliance.

Lab grown diamonds are superior to alternatives like cubic zirconia, crystal, and moissanite because they are chemically identical to natural diamonds, offering the same unmatched durability (10 on the Mohs scale) and brilliance.
Unlike cubic zirconia, which is softer and loses its sparkle over time, or crystal, which is easily scratched, lab grown diamonds retain their shine and withstand daily wear. Moissanite, though similar in appearance, has a different sparkle and is slightly softer than diamonds.
Furthermore, lab grown diamonds are more environmentally friendly and ethically sourced compared to mined diamonds, making them an ideal choice for those seeking a high-quality, sustainable gemstone.

Lab grown diamonds usually have inscriptions that can only be read by a magnifying glass. Without the inscriptions, jewelers who are trained gemologists may be able to tell whether a diamond is lab-grown with the aid of a powerful high-end specialty microscope or gemologist lab.

Lab grown diamonds typically retain less value than natural diamonds. But, unless you're dropping some serious cash on a large, high-color white diamond — or a rare fancy colored diamond, like a blue diamond — a natural diamond isn't going to appreciate much in value either.
In reality, all diamonds dramatically drop in value the second you buy them. It's unlikely you'll be able to sell your natural mined diamond and break even within your lifetime. (That is, unless you spent millions on a world famous diamond with an exciting history).
So, whether lab grown or mined, diamonds are not meant as investment vehicles. Your savings account and ETFs are a better way to invest. That's why you should always choose what will make you happiest.
About ⅔ of people aged 21-40 who are shopping for an engagement ring are now willing to consider lab grown diamonds. If you're shopping for an engagement ring stone, what would you prefer: a smaller natural diamond or a larger sparkle and some extra cash for the honeymoon?
- Wrap a thin strip of paper or string around the base of your finger.Mark where it overlaps and measure the length with a ruler in millimeters and check it against the ring sizing chart.
- Measure the inside diameter of your existing rings (the distance across the center of the ring) with a ruler and check it against the ring sizing chart.
- Order a ring sizer from us.
Tips for Accurate Measurement
Measure at the end of the day when your fingers are at their largest.
Avoid measuring when your hands are too cold or too warm, as temperatures can affect finger size.
Ensure the ring is snug but comfortable—it should slide over your knuckle without being too loose.
